Welcome to the 2024 USW Health, Safety and Environment Conference webpage! The conference will be held in Pittsburgh, Pa., at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center and Westin Hotel on Aug. 18-23.
Conference registration
Registration is now CLOSED! If you have already registered and still need to pay, you may do one of the following:
- Submit a check by mail made payable to USW Secretary-Treasurer and send it to the address below. Please provide a copy of your registration confirmation. You should indicate the registrant name in the subject line. If the check applies to more than one registrant, please provide a list of names.

The onsite conference registration schedule is as follows:

Hotel reservations
A block of rooms has been set aside at the hotels listed below. Please make your hotel reservations by using the website links or phone numbers provided below. If booking by phone, identify yourself as an attendee of the 2024 United Steelworkers Health, Safety and Environment Conference. The final date for booking hotel room reservations is Friday, Aug. 2 2024.
Notes: A deposit of one night is required. Hotel cancellations will be accepted 72 hours before the arrival date. If a cancellation is not made, the room charge and tax will be billed to the credit card on file. Check-in time is 4 p.m., and check-out time is 11 a.m.

Airline transportation
In cooperation with Direct Travel, Inc., we made special arrangements for air transportation to the conference. Reservations can be made by calling 877-499-1149 and selecting prompt “4” (group meetings). When calling Direct Travel, identify yourself as a participant in the 2024 United Steelworkers Health, Safety and Environment Conference.
In accordance with our established policy, the International Union will not be responsible for the cost of delegate(s) participation. Your local union must bear any expenses for attendance, including airfare and hotel fees.
