To All GMP Council Local Union Presidents,
The triennial GMP Council Assembly of all GMP Council Local Unions will be held at the Sheraton Station Square in Pittsburgh, PA starting at 10:00am on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, and will continue through 4:00pm on Thursday, November 7, 2024. All conferees attending the GMP Council Assembly are invited to attend a reception on Thursday evening hosted by the USW.

Representation for each Local Union shall be on the basis of one (1) delegate up to and including 100 dues paying members in good standing; two (2) delegates over 100 dues paying membership up to and including 200; three (3) delegates over 200 dues paying membership up to and including 300, and so on. The Local Union President is entitled, by virtue of their office, to represent the Local Union as one of its allotted conferees. Other allotted conferees must be members in good standing and shall by appointed by the Local Union President.
Registration
Registration may be completed online or by mail and should be completed by October 11, 2024. A registration fee of $150 per conferee to the GMP Council Assembly will be charged to help offset the Union’s costs for the conference. The USW Glass Industry Conference will be held on Thursday, November 7 and Friday, November 8, with an overlapping agenda for Thursday. The registration fee for the USW Glass Industry Conference will also be $150, but for conferees attending both, the rate will be reduced to a combined total of $200. If conferees are attending both conferences, only one form needs to be completed.

- For mail registration, complete the attached registration form and return it along with a check for the registration fee.
All checks should be made payable to “USW Secretary-Treasurer” and include GMP Council Assembly and/or USW Glass Conference in the memo line. Mail the check (and registration form if not done online) to: USW, c/o Eileen Whitcroft, 60 Blvd of the Allies, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
Hotel
A block of rooms at the Sheraton Station Square has been reserved at a rate of $159 per night. The rate for overnight parking is $34 per night. A credit card will be needed to make reservations. The deadline for hotel reservations at the $159 rate is October 7, 2024.

Air Travel
In cooperation with Direct Travel, Inc., we made special arrangements for air transportation to the conference. Reservations can be made by calling (877) 499-1149 and selecting prompt “4” (group meetings). When calling Direct Travel, identify yourself as a participant in the USW Glass Industry Conference. Please call between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. EST, Monday through Friday, or you will incur an after-hours fee of $16.00.
In accordance with our established policy, the International Union will not be responsible for the cost of member(s) participation. Your Local Union must bear any expenses for attendance, including airfare and hotel fees.
