Negotiations Continue But Much Work Is Needed
Negotiations continue this week on wages, health insurance benefits and 401(k) contributions, as well as a number of other important areas. While the pace of meetings with the company has increased, much more work is needed to reach a tentative agreement worthy of your vote.
While we remain committed in our belief that the best result is to resolve the outstanding issues through collective bargaining without a work stoppage, Goodyear needs to recognize that its strong financial performance is due to the dedication of its union workforce.
It is now time for management to recognize the company’s most valuable asset: its workers.
We will update you later this week with more specific information about the differences between our fair proposals and Goodyear’s greedy demands.
Over these next few days, your committee urges you to participate in any and all actions at the plant so that Goodyear continues to hear all of your voices raised in solidarity around our common goals.
Make it clear that without USW members, there is no Goodyear.
Unity – Determination – Solidarity
