Transforming Lives: The Impact of DOE Training Programs at the Paducah Site

Hear from workers and trainers at the Paducah Site in Kentucky about the Department of Energy (DOE) training programs that have transformed their lives. The United Steelworkers Tony Mazzocchi Center (USWTMC), funded by a grant from the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences in cooperation with the DOE, provides health and safety training for workers, with senior workers training juniors. The program has positively impacted people's lives, providing opportunities for knowledgeable individuals who may not have had a chance otherwise. The DOE's deactivation and remediation mission for the site began in 2014, with the union involved in ensuring employee safety. Learn about the importance of craft workers and the value of training students for these roles in this inspiring video.
