Tell Sherwin Alumina to Stop the Lockout

On October 11, Sherwin Alumina locked out 450 hard-working USW Local 235A members at their plant in Gregory, Texas. The lockout came after 235A members overwhelmingly rejected the company’s demands for major cuts in pension and health care benefits for members and retirees, as well as reductions in overtime pay.

Breaking the Chains of Poverty

In Pittsburgh, a partnership between the United Steelworkers and the A. Philip Randolph Institute has created a program called "Breaking the Chains of Poverty." They have successfully formed a pathway for displaced, unemployed or under employed individuals to become trained and find careers that often change their lives.
