8/23/24- Your bargaining committee has been hard at work this week, focusing on key areas that will strengthen our contract and enhance union power. We’ve made significant progress! Our key achievements include:
- Strengthening Seniority Language: Ensuring fair and transparent seniority processes.
- Holiday Pay Language: Securing better terms for holiday compensation.
- Improved Shift Trade Language: Enhancing flexibility and fairness in shift trading.
- Improved Lunch Break Language: Securing better protections and standards for lunch breaks.
- Improved Leader Language: Clarifying and strengthening the roles and responsibilities of Leaders.
- Domestic Violence Language: Introducing protections and support for members affected by domestic violence.
- School Visitation Language: Ensuring time off for parents to attend school events.
- Improved Disciplinary Time Off Language: Refining the disciplinary process for time off.
- Improved Single Day Vacation Language: Making it easier to take single vacation days.
- Tightened Supervisor Working Language: Limiting supervisors from performing union work.
- Better Communication with Local Union on Job Combinations/Changes/Duties: Ensuring that the union is informed and involved in job-related changes moving forward.
