USW Cares: USW Locals in California Assisting the Less Fortunate in Their Communities

On December 14, United Steelworker Locals 5632, 8065, 7600 and 8599 joined with the San Bernardino Riverside Civil Rights Area Committee and others in collecting 2000 pairs of socks (adult and child) for area charity groups.

The collection meeting was held at USW Local 7600 in Fontana, CA and the donation was made to Fontana Mayor Acquanetta Warren and Fontana Board Member Jesse Arendarez.

Warren and Arendarez will be delivering them to the Water of Life Community Church, where the children will attach scriptures to the socks before taken to area charity groups.

This project is just one of so many that the USW's amazing members do every day to give back to our communities. If you or your local is doing good things, we want to hear about it! Please submit a nomination for a Jefferson Awards at usw.org/uswcares.
