Urge your Senators to support worker health and safety

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, the union has demanded that the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) implement an emergency temporary infectious disease standard (ETS) that would require employers to develop a plan to keep workers, particularly those in health care, safe. Unfortunately, the past administration refused to act, and a legislative effort to force the issue stalled out in the Senate.

Earlier this year, the President signed an Executive Order which required OSHA to finally consider an ETS to protect workers during the pandemic. The process is moving, but industries like poultry processors are pushing back hard. We need to make sure workers’ voices are part of this process to get that standard moving.

The Senate Leadership can help move this process. We need to make sure they are hearing from you, the workers who are most affected by this.

Click HERE to email your Senators and ask them to urge Senate leadership to support an Emergency Temporary Standard to protect workers from COVID-19.
