We came, we lobbied, we won: USW members witness PROAct passage in House

USW members lobby for PROAct

Members from across the nation descended on our nation's Capitol to push for what's being called the most sweeping pro-union, pro-workers' rights legislation in a generation.

The U.S. House of Representatives voted late Thursday to approve the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act, and we were proud to be there to witness it.

Now, the legislation is in the hands of the U.S. Senate.

“Workers have the right to join together to improve their lives on the job, and the PRO Act will make sure that fundamental right is protected,” said USW International President Thomas M. Conway. “Too often, companies bully and intimidate workers to keep unions out and face little to no punishment, even in cases when they break the law."
